Ten California organizations received the state’s highest environmental honor, the Governor’s Environmental and Economic Leadership Award, in a ceremony on December 5, at the California Environmental Protection Agency. 6th Annual Environmental Health Leadership Summit (November 21, 2015)
The annual Environmental Health Leadership Summit is a community-centered event featuring the perspectives and challenges of communities, governments, stakeholders, and others in matters of environmental health. The 2015 event took place in Brawley, CA and featured speakers from the State Legislature, federal and state agencies, local governments, public interest groups, residents and academia.

AB 52 Tribal Training (October 27, 2015)
This training is to provide CalEPA BDOs with a better understanding of cultural and political workings of tribal governments in California in relation to Tribal sovereignty and provide a foundation of knowledge of AB 52 (Gatto, 2014) and the best practices in its implementation. Impacts of Climate Change on Children's Health (March 4-5, 2015)
Experts from multiple disciplines explore the many facets of this topic in one of the first open scientific symposium specifically addressing climate change from a children's health perspective. This is part of a continuing series of children's health symposia conducted as part of the CalEPA Children's Environmental Health Program. The purpose was to educate the staff of Cal/EPA and other government agencies about the impacts of climate change on children's health, and to set the stage for dissemination of public health messaging and actions to protect the health of California's children.

Climate Action Team Public Meeting (June 23, 2010)
This is the second public meeting of the Climate Action Team (CAT) for 2010. The CAT has been holding these meetings each quarter to receive updates on climate program activities at the state and regional level, and to provide a forum for discussion of climate related issues. The agenda will focus on the Near Term Implementation Plans that were developed by the CAT working groups describing their mitigation, adaptation and research activities. In particular, we will have presentation on select Plans from the Biodiversity, Energy, Coastal, Land Use and Water working groups. We will also have an update on the Plans developed by our State Operations working group, which will include a request for approval of several action items. The full listing of the implementation plans will be posted on the CAT website for each sector.

CEQA Training Guidelines (April 8, 2010)
The Natural Resources Agency recently adopted Amendments to the CEQA Guidelines for greenhouse gas emissions. Those Amendments were developed to provide guidance to public agencies regarding the analysis and mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions. PowerPoint Presentation (MS PP, 267 KB).

Climate Action Team Public Meeting (March 11, 2010)
This is the first public meeting of the Climate Action Team (CAT) for 2010. The CAT has been holding these meetings each quarter to receive updates on climate program activities at the state and regional level, and to provide a forum for discussion of climate related issues. At the March meeting there were updates from the Air Resources Board and the CAT sector working group on Public Health. There was also a presentation and discussion about GHG mitigation measures and climate change adaptation strategies that state agencies will be working on in the coming year.

Climate Action Team Public Meeting (March 11, 2009)
The Climate Action Team held its first public meeting of 2009. The purpose of the meeting was to receive updates on climate program activities at the state and regional level, and to discuss the newly released CAT Report for 2008. This is the first of regular quarterly meetings to track progress on climate change programs and GHG reduction measures being implemented under AB32, the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006.

Public Workshop on Updated Macroeconomic Analysis of March 2006
Climate Action Team Report Strategies (September 14, 2007)
The Economics Subgroup of the Climate Action Team held a workshop to present an update to the macroeconomic analysis of the climate strategies in the March 2006 Climate Action Team Report. The workshop focused on updated methods for characterizing climate strategies to support macroeconomic analyses and the comparison of results using two macroeconomic models.

Market Advisory Committee Public Meeting (June 12, 2007)
The Market Advisory Committee (Committee) held its final public meeting on June 12, 2007. The Committee discussed its draft recommendations to be presented to the Air Resources Board on the design of a greenhouse gas cap and trade system for California. The Committee solicited public comments about their draft recommendations.
Climate Action Team Public Meeting (March 12, 2007)
The Climate Action Team held its first public meeting of 2007. Early actions on greenhouse gas mitigation measures and progress toward strategies outlined in the 2006 Climate Action Team report were discussed. Eight new subgroups of the Climate Action Team were introduced and a roadmap for future activities was presented.

Market Advisory Committee Public Meeting (February 27, 2007)
The Market Advisory Committee held its initial public meeting on February 27, 2007. The Committee discussed design ideas for a market-based system consistent with the requirements of the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006. The Committee also provided background information on other market-based emissions trading schemes.

CalEPA Headquarters Energy Awareness Month (2002)
October is Energy Awareness Month in many parts of the world. Here at CalEPA we are always looking for new and inventive ways to conserve energy. Then-Secretary Winston Hickox created the Environmental Management System (EMS) for Agency Operations at the headquarters building. This video takes a close look at how EMS is working in our new work environment

CalEPA Headquarters Technology Collaboration (2002)
This video, produced by the Integrated Waste Management Board, shows the collaborative information technology efforts undertaken by the Board and other departments under CalEPA since moving into the headquarters building in 2000. The video was developed for CalEPA's booth in the Government Solutions Center at the 2002 Government Technology Conference.
